A Little About the Planner...

""When she was 3 years old on her daddy's knee, he said you can be anything you want to be"

- Trisha Yearwood

:: Growing up I watched every bridal movie (over & over), bought every bridal magazine I possible could, play dress up and role play the dream wedding, watched every detail of every wedding I attended, recorded every bridal show…and today, as a grown up, I am proud to say I still do all of those things!

When I was a little girl, I always dreamed about owning my own wedding business, and one day a bridal shop. Growing up I maintained many positions from Elementary through High School that enabled me to start creating events such as: Dance Committees, Yearbook Committees, School Promotions, etc. My very first job was even a Party Coordinator for a local pizza resturaunt and arcade. After high school I continued my education within the psychology realm due to personal events and interests and eventually obtained my Masters of Forensic Psychology degree with the hopes of using my education to provide support and guidance for troubled children, teens, and their families. Though I still strive to influence youth, I have enabled myself to still have an outlet for my true passion and talent.

While obtaining my Bachelors degree, I obtained an Assistant Coordinator and Assistant Bridal Store manager position. I took the position because I had an empty spot and goal in my life that I wanted to full-fill. So while working under the very talented Angela Boyd, I started to learn about an industry that since I was a young girl wanted to know everything about. Within this process, I fell in love with the concept of planning special events and began helping friends, family, co-workers, etc. plan and execute their weddings and other special events. I soon realized that creating Breathtaking, Unforgettable, and Amazing events is my true passion and love within life, and it is here that a turning point in my life was started, and Simply Chic by Carrie: Weddings and Special Events was created.

I limit the number of events that I take on per year because my clients are not just clients. They are individuals who I build a lasting and strong relationship with that extends beyond the “wedding planning’ years. However, with those events, I can not explain the joy, excitement, and inspiration that I get while working with different individuals and planning different events. Everyone has a unique story and different inspiration that they are able to bring forth. I truly enjoy putting my skills and whole heart into planning, executing, and watching the events unfold; it is truly rewarding and enables me, from the bottom of my heart, to say, “I LOVE MY JOB!”

"There is nothing more than I enjoy, than getting to know a couple, what makes them unique....and ultimately being by their side throughout the process and knowing that I am part of the biggest day of their lives!!" - Carrie
